Let’s create memories that last a lifetime

ONE TRIP AT A TIME.

I live in north Alabama with my two kids. My heart is in Nashville, TN, where I lived for 18 years. We moved a year ago to be closer to family after my husband unexpectedly died. While we miss our life in Nashville, a perk of moving is people to watch my kids when I travel without them.

I’ve always loved and dreamed of traveling to exciting places. Fun fact about me, I cried the first time I saw the

Statue of Liberty (at age 16) because I never thought that a small town girl like myself would get to see something so big and amazing.

Since then, I’ve seen far bigger and more wonderful things. I’ve traveled to Europe, visiting Germany, Norway, Sweden and Italy. I’ve been to Canada more than once and have many more global dreams.

I’ve climbed 14,000ft mountains, backpacked in the Rockies, hiked the Adirondacks. I’ve seen the beautiful red rocks of the southwest at sunset, when they turn from red to shades of pink. I’ve stood at the side of the Grand Canyon and struggled to believe it wasn’t a photoshopped imagine because it looks so perfect. I’ve slid down sand dunes in the desert and then sat on top of them to watch the sunset.

I’ve seen the rainforest of Kauai and felt the spirit of aloha from the people that call this island home. I’ve snorkeled the hidden beaches of Vieque (a small treasure of an island off the coast of Puerto Rico) and met locals who were kind enough to tell me about their life on the island.

Travel means immensely more to me these days than it ever has. It helps me keep going when the days feel long and hard. It has become an important part of the grieving process and every trip I take leaves me incredibly grateful for the life I’m living.

Hey there!

I’m April

And I love to travel

April, wearing a hat that says "Banff National Park" and sunglasses, standing on top of a mountain smiling on a sunny day. Behind her, there are other mountain peaks overestimate in evergreen trees and a valley between the mountains with a river snaking through it.

I'm known best for

Doing big things on a whim.

Whether it’s calling up my mom and saying let’s go on a trip like right now or immediately putting my house on the market and moving to another state because the deck I wanted was too expensive to build, I often do things and then figure it out later. Trying and failing is better than never trying at all.

Talking friends ears off

I love a good catch up session with friends, especially if we take a walk.

Loving the Lord

I hope I’m know for loving the Lord. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me. He truly is near to the broken hearted.
